1950s 1st Birthday!

I am crazy for this vintage 1950s themed 1st birthday at Pigtails & pjs.
Maribeth starts out by recreating an invitation with 1950s charm and sweetness and adds a rhyme for udder-cuteness!

A love of vintage charm and a wee-one turning one!
I especially love all of maribeth's homemade noisemakers, party hats, and horns!
What an amazingly intmately planned birthday bash!

Dreaming of Gardens...

I'm excited to have P's 3rd birthday theme be a Garden Party!
Martha sure knows how to spruce-up garden creativity, I mean look at the colors!
Every detail oozes whimsical, sweet, beautiful, and classy.

My daughter is turning into such the girlie-girl! Princess is everything!
I know, why wouldn't I do a Princess theme? Because 1. it will be summer, 2. she hearts water! Seriously hearts it! 3. children want to explore and show indpendence, so why not be outside with fresh air!

Looks like I'll be re-ordering invites as my BS/P has changed and I also want to be sure we have some hot weather on her day (water will be involved). I'm just thrilled I'mfinding more ideas and inspiration that can be incoorperated into the theme.

Please feel free to share any images, sites, or ideas you may have! I love hearing other's thoughts on party planning!

Vintage Valentine Love!

Valentine's Day.
Miss P and I are celebrating together this year.
As a "couple"...since Mommy rocks. Oh. Yeah.

I'm so lame, I've been so busy with my courses, I've had no time for fun V-Day surprises.
Not. Cool.
Oui.
So I decided to venture by Bakerella since she totally makes me swoon for baked goods.
I ♥ to eat. I ♥ sweets like no one's business, yo.
Now, mix in my vintage love in home decor and Im going gaga.

See! See!
Ah.
Yum, yum, yummy!
So, I'm attempting to make cupcake bites Sunday.
I'm so excited and yet nervious I'll mess this one up.

I will be posting come Monday.
Ha ha...ahhhh...yes.
I know.

♥ Happy Valentine's Day to all ♥
♥ May you enjoy the love of family, friends, and life ♥

I am no longer enjoying the east coast winter developments.
Having 20 inches from last weekend and another 10 to 16 inches tonight just makes me cringe.

So to bring warmth to my heart and possibly yours, I found these crafts to make with TLC and fun!
Who wouldn't feel special and warm-up to these home made beauties?!
Festive for those special someone's in your life.

My daughter is 2 years old.
Making the cards and having her decorate this year is uber-fun!
Hearts that open on the right and left hand sides and glittered with love.
She will be having a friendship Valentine party on Friday. If our weather does not ruin it, we will be passing out personalized cards for all her friends and teachers.
What types of Valentine crafts will you be making and enjoying?

Valentine Leis

I'm so exhausted by our weather on the east coast.
We've been reading and preparing for our 12 to 20 inches of snow.
We started Friday around late afternoon and have been hit like a bowl full of frosting.
So, I've been reading up on some of my favorite blogs and found
one of my favorites Make and Takes before heading over to Craftzine.

I love Marie LeBaron's Valentine Leis.
Her idea on taking some simple home materials that you have lying around and transforming them into a fun and cheerful Valentine's Day love accessory is perfect!

Its simple and so cute!
Getting ready for Valentine's Day means hand-making cards, treats, and sweets for loved one's.
What will you be doing to celebrate your love for family and friends?

Vintage Wine Party Continued!

Everything was pretty simple. The garland, flags, place cards, and thank you's came from Gaddie & Tood.

My parents stopped at a Liquor store and purchased Italian champagne, beer, and wine.
Michael's carries lots of optional bags, and tissue paper which was used for favors.

My mother handmade dark chocolate truffles which were also placed with Italian champagne within the favor bags to coordinate with the black & silver colors.

My parents decided to go with a hors' devours that would be light and tie in with the theme.
All food was handmade, from tortellini skewers to spicy bean dip with Italian crackers.
Not only was the food delicious but the company was fabulous!

John's Vintage WIne Party!

Cin Cin!
In other words--cheers!
My Father's 50th Birthday Party was held over the weekend.
12 Italian family members equaled an Italian themed party.
My Father couldn't have been happier with its turn-out.
Minus the snow that stopped all his friends and co-workers,
the photographer, and favors from being handed out.
Oh well!
Ala Familia!
