She's so sassy! Our weather is so chilly (4*C) outside that our home is the only option at the moment. I'm hoping to make a trip to Longwood Gardens in PA soon as the indoor children's garden is warm and breathtaking for a photo shoot! Hope everyone is having fun getting ready for the holidays! I've been absent awhile due to school work and my daughter's birthday. I have to admit--I started working again and have found myself completely lost in other obligations. Whenever I've wanted to post about parties or amazing finds...I just shuddered at the thought! Its so exhausting trying to bounce back from one objective to another while still having the energy to be as bubbly as I'd like.

Anywho, I'm slowing down on the projects I've been dealing with on a day-to-day basis. So exciting! You have no idea how much I miss looking and drooling over follow mama's with exquisite taste in party planning, executing, and presenting! :)

Just look at this fun and sleek color pallete for a rocket and alien inspired party! I've gotta hand it to Hostess with the mostess for an out-of-this-world birthday party! Wow! My Miss P would go gaga for this one!

Miss P turned 3 years old.

My chickadee is no longer a wee-one.

So we had an amazing party and I'm waiting on the pictures to arrive as patiently as I can.

You know how you have ideas of all the images you want to be captured the day of,

well I'm very anxious that we will not have the pleasure of every picture I wanted.

Charity is amazing without a doubt--but those girls were on a major energy rush and unwilling to cooperate with my design choices. What's a mommy to do?

I can't wait to share our Garden soiree soon.

I've finally been able to upload the 200 or so pictures I've taken over the past month. Miss P was one amazing firecracker on the 4th of July. We had so much fun shooting in our backyard before she stripped herself down, put on her bathing suit, and ran for the mist and mini pool. Such a wonderful weekend! Looking forward to August so I can share her party pictures with her friends! Getting closer...

I've been crazy busy the past couple of weeks with starting back up with work, my program, and miss P. Oui! So when I found this amazing party--wow. Gives me wonderful inspiration for miss P's garden party the end of August.

I'm smitten by Lindsay's talent-she made Matilda's clothing! Super sweet! The colors of her daughter's party is so fresh and fun. I'm so looking forward to when miss P turns 3 this year...she's thrilled for her party to come.

ABC Dr. Seuss Birthday! {guest post on Birthday Girl}

I'm an avid reader of the Birthday Girl, with all her fantastically beautiful party ideas and posts. Not to mention, all the yummy recipes she posts from cake, pie, to printables and inspiration boards. Oh yeah, a pretty incredible blog to follow for inspiration for any event you may be hosting.

This week she has a guest post from Courtney of Nesting Instincts. I'm crazy in love with Dr. Seuss (seriously) we have EVERY book by Dr. Seuss in Miss P's room. I secretly plan to have a Dr. Seuss birthday party when I have my little boy one day. Shh. Totally a secret from BP Man. He knows all about my crazy baby talk, but tells me to constantly chill-out. With part-time work resuming, my just now starting the undergraduate program, and preparing a toddler for preschool in the fall...I get a little carried away. What can I say!? I have big plans for the future! ;)

Who doesn't feel charitable when it comes to contributing towards a bake sale? I've been really looking for a challenge when it comes to community work this year. I'm getting started on my BS/P, raising a fiesty toddler, and feeling reverential towards others. So, I'm looking into getting the scoop on using a park, my local Mom's Club, or possible a garage sale to make this happen. I also stopped by Bakerella to get a recipe and instructions for the cowgirl/boy cookie mixes and Bake it Pretty for mini loaf pans (to make pumpkin bread). Projects are so fun and rewarding, so I'm hoping by June I can get the ball rolling!

Operation Shower and other volunteers provide services to military Moma's deserving our appreciation and gratitude. I love the new Mackenzie Collection at Pottery Barn. Crafted backpack's with summer prints in flowers, butterflies, flowers and dots, polka dots, and solids.

Just look at the storage room within--for preschool, to larger sizes for older children with laptops or MP3 players. These bags are meant to also hold lunches and reflective material for safety when walking.

Miss P begins Preschool in September, I'm thinking I need to add this super-cute bag to my to-do list in August!

Easter was amazing.

Miss P enjoyed spending time with family and receiving wonderful prizes from the Easter bunny!

I completely for to snap our egg pictures (from Martha Stewart) that came out beautifully. When your enjoying yourself and taking in every moment, you tend to forget pictures.

We sent these lovelies to her day care room on Friday.

We love See's candy in this house and had to share some Spring love with everyone.

The tags came from Robin with a sweet little ducky and "Thanks for being a good friend!"

Needless to say, the candy sticks and bunny puppet was a huge hit!

I had to share this cutie from the newest What's new cupcake? that Cupcakes take the cake decided to share--a sweet recipe perfect for Spring!

An Apple for the Teacher recipe

Makes 1 basket: 7 apple cupcakes

Whether you want to butter up your teacher, keep the doctor away, or tempt Adam, our apples do the trick. The cupcakes are topped with doughnuts coated in red frosting, rolled in red sugar, and adorned with Tootsie Roll stems and fruit-chew leaves. The tines of a fork make the impression of a bite, which is then coated in white frosting. The seeds are candy-coated sunflower seeds.

Ingredients:

7 vanilla cupcakes baked in red paper liners

7 mini plain or chocolate-covered doughnuts

1 can (16 ounces) vanilla frosting

4 chocolate chews (Tootsie Rolls)

4 green fruit chews (Jolly Rancher, Tootsie Fruit Rolls)

1 cup red decorating sugar

Red food coloring (use paste food coloring for a darker red)

3 black candy-coated chocolate-covered sunflower seeds (Sunny Seed Drops)

Instructions:

1. Cut 1/2 inch from the bottom of each mini doughnut with a serrated knife and discard bottom piece.

2. Spread some vanilla frosting on the cupcakes and place a mini doughnut piece, cut side down, on top of each. Place the cupcakes in the freezer for 10 minutes, until slightly frozen.

3. For the stems, cut the unwrapped chocolate chews in half lengthwise on the diagonal and shape into stems. For the leaves, roll out the green fruit chews 1/8 inch thick, then cut into ten 1 1/2-by-3/4-inch leaf shapes. Make a crease down the center of each leaf with the back of a paring knife and pinch one end of each leaf.

4. Place the red sugar in a medium shallow bowl. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the vanilla frosting into a small ziplock bag, press out the excess air, and seal. Tint the remaining vanilla frosting in the can red with the food coloring.

5. Working on 1 cupcake at a time, spread some of the red frosting on the top and sides of the doughnut and cupcake to fill in the gaps and lightly coat, making the doughnut look like the top of an apple.

6. Roll the frosted cupcake in the red sugar to coat. Repeat with the remaining cupcakes.

7. To create a bite from the apple, carefully remove a 1 1/2-inch-diameter divot from the top of 1 of the sugar-coated doughnuts, using fork tines or a paring knife. Snip a small (1/8-inch) corner from the bag with the vanilla frosting and pipe a thin layer of frosting to cover the exposed area inside the divot. Spread lightly with the back of a small spoon to smooth. For the apple seeds, arrange the sunflower seeds, pointed ends toward the center.

8. Insert the chocolate-chew stems with the green fruit-chew leaves at the top of the apple cupcakes. Arrange the cupcakes in a basket.

I apologies for no posts in awhile. I slacked off from taking my daughter to her Dr. office in hopes of her newly developed symptoms being "no big deal". She attends daycare after all. Big. Mistake. Double ear infection, seasonal allergies, and lots of medication=a frustrating time spent with my sassy girl home ALL WEEK. Mommy not happy.

So this weekend Im taking out a day for practicing spring crafts.In the mean time, happy THIF to all!

I'm not one for a circus themed party.

I see so many and all of them are the same.

This vintage circus party is amazing!

I'm all about vintage and when you mix that into the theme, it makes the circus theme that much more unique and eye-catching!

Mygrandmother would have flipped for this party if she were still here, she collected porcelian circus clowns and music boxes. This party totally makes me think of her and how special a circus party can be when personalizing and focusing on details. Me likey! :)

I'm excited to have P's 3rd birthday theme be a Garden Party!

Martha sure knows how to spruce-up garden creativity, I mean look at the colors!

Every detail oozes whimsical, sweet, beautiful, and classy.

My daughter is turning into such the girlie-girl! Princess is everything!

I know, why wouldn't I do a Princess theme? Because 1. it will be summer, 2. she hearts water! Seriously hearts it! 3. children want to explore and show indpendence, so why not be outside with fresh air!

Looks like I'll be re-ordering invites as my BS/P has changed and I also want to be sure we have some hot weather on her day (water will be involved). I'm just thrilled I'mfinding more ideas and inspiration that can be incoorperated into the theme.

Valentine's Day.

Miss P and I are celebrating together this year.

As a "couple"...since Mommy rocks. Oh. Yeah.

I'm so lame, I've been so busy with my courses, I've had ~~no time~~ for fun V-Day surprises.

So I decided to venture by Bakerella since she totally makes me swoon for baked goods.

I am no longer enjoying the east coast winter developments.

Having 20 inches from last weekend and another 10 to 16 inches tonight just makes me cringe.

So to bring warmth to my heart and possibly yours, I found these crafts to make with TLC and fun!

I'm so exhausted by our weather on the east coast.

We've been reading and preparing for our 12 to 20 inches of snow.

We started Friday around late afternoon and have been hit like a bowl full of frosting.

Vintage Wine Party Continued!

Everything was pretty simple. The garland, flags, place cards, and thank you's came from Gaddie & Tood.

My parents stopped at a Liquor store and purchased Italian champagne, beer, and wine.

Michael's carries lots of optional bags, and tissue paper which was used for favors.

My mother handmade dark chocolate truffles which were also placed with Italian champagne within the favor bags to coordinate with the black & silver colors.

My parents decided to go with a hors' devours that would be light and tie in with the theme.
All food was handmade, from tortellini skewers to spicy bean dip with Italian crackers.
Not only was the food delicious but the company was fabulous!

My Father couldn't have been happier with its turn-out.

I love Valentines Day.

Especially when you combine it with chilly weather.

Mr. BP Man and I already have decided 1 substancial gift and one smaller this year.

A magical year 2009 was, with a 2-year old rather than 1-year old, and a harsher winter in Delaware rather than a mild one.

We enjoyed, suffered from temper tantrums, cried from amazing mile stones, and are truly blessed to have what we hold dear.

I couldn't post without sharing a photo or two of Christmas with Miss P.

I love traditions, old or new, just as long as its fun and inspiring to anyone and everyone.

I've been reading everyone's blogs and I'm loving how each and everyone of you share your holiday traditions.

Music while cooking.

Making cookies with the kids.

Donating time and love to others.

Creating cute and whimsical crafts.

You are all inspiring.

My fondest memory was in California (Salinas) dressed in jammies on Christmas Eve. We wound up driving through the country area's and admiring lights while listening to Christmas music (from the 80's and 90's) and giggling in our Ford mini van.

Oh, how I loved the simplicity and childhood callings.

I love cookies! Miss P's Papa was baking cookies today due to our 16" of snow.

Yummy ginger and molasses, peanut butter cookies, chocolate crinkles, and Spritz.

Sorry, my mouth is watering from thinking of all the choices.

Sounds good, right?

So, while thinking of cookies (hense, the picture) I decided to browse for ideas, as I'm off on winter break.

Searching for fun recipes and inspiration on Monday.

I will bake and eat, eat and bake...and pretty much be happy.

I fell upon these beauties.

Yum.

Must. Bake. These.

Immediatly!

Cream Cheese Spritz Cookies

Ingredients:

• 1 cup butter, softened

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

• 1 egg yolk

Makes: Recipe makes 4 dozen cookies.

Instructions:

•Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and cream cheese together. Add sugar and mix well until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla and lemon peel. Mix well.

•Gradually add flour and salt to cream mixture. Shape dough in small logs and place in Wilton Cookie Pro™ or other cookie press.

•Press cookies onto cool ungreased cookie sheet.

•Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

•To make green trees add a small amount of Leaf Green paste color to dough before shaping into logs.

•To make red/white cookies, add Red food color to one half dough. Shape red and plain dough separately into narrow logs; place together into Wilton Cookie Pro™ or other cookie press.

•Follow above instructions for shaping.

•Store in airtight container at cool room temperature for several weeks or freeze for two months.

Army vs. Navy

Enjoying the march off of Navy midshipment!

My man gettin' some bear for a good game day.

Bundled up in layers for 30 degree weather and wind.

Yes, it was freezing!

After Navy scored 7 points (Army 3pts).

We were jumping up and down! ;)

We left Philadelphia early (an hour and a half to beat traffic)

and found out at TGIF that Navy won 17-3. Woo hoo!

My daughter stayed home with Nana and Papa making a gingerbread house and eating Papa's homemade cookies.

She suffered as you can imagine without Mama and Dada. Mhm.

So, back to a normal schedule of assignments, watching the doodle bug, and searching for Christmas crafts while making some too!

I'm not particularly crazy over thanksgiving, I cherish and show thanks for all the treasures in my life....health, family, school, a roof over my head, and so on.

I've always admired other Mommy's for their hard work as baby makers, working women, loyal friends, and the talent and drive so many of you possess. AMAZING!

When I heard of Kim's Believe Holiday Boutique and left over holiday gift tags, I jumped for joy! Just look at how cheerful and exquisite these are!

Fall Foliage

I love fall, the seasons are always another reason to feel a little more at peace, excited, and stressed all at the same time.

So besides my stresses, Miss P and the parentals will be headed to Longwood Gardens without me...just love the pile up of assignments and studying ahead. So I shall miss out but am totally psyched for the Army v. Navy game in December and Longwood Gardens visit with my chickadee in tow.
The holidays are just around the corner which means decorations, crafts, fun activities, games, and simply enjoying the gifts we have in our lives through everyday thanks it may be this way. Happy fall ya'll!
